Moonlit Field - Final REMASTERED Build & New Patreon Page!

Heya everyone!

These past few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my journey as a game dev. When I first started back in 2023, it felt like almost every furry VN out there was this huge, long, “epic” story. And yeah, that’s still kinda true now. Short FVNs? Pretty much barely anyone was talking about them back then. I used to think that if you wanted your project to be good or “successful”, it had to be this deep, long arc, and romance had to be super spicy or mega dramatic. At least, that’s what I believed at the time.

But now… I don’t think that way anymore. I’ve realized it’s not about the length at all. It’s about whether the story does what it’s meant to do. Moonlit Field did exactly that. The only thing I really wanted to say with it was: “Unexpected things happen all the time. Better make the most of them.” And I think that message landed.

If you didn’t know, when I last updated Moonlit Field, I still planned to expand it. I wanted to tell more about Ray and Ryan. How they spent time together after their first date, their first kiss, and so on. I even wrote a few extra scenes and made some assets for their stargazing date. But I never actually mentioned that the project was finished.

Now that I have a clearer vision and want to focus on short stories, what better way to move forward than by revisiting where it all began and officially wrapping it up?

I know I call this “remastered” version, but I must say that it’s not a massive change. I mostly did some editorial tweaks and added a tiny piece of content to tie up the loose ends. There’s also a little visual polish here and there, but I made sure to keep that raw, amateur look. It’s part of the charm and a reminder that this was my very first VN. It’s unfortunate that some content had to be left on the cutting room floor, but I think it’s for the best.

Alright then, so what’s next?

There are three main things on my plate right now:

  1. Continue working on Geiger. It’s sitting at around 12k words, and I’m aiming to finish it at about the 20k mark. Don’t worry, I’m not jumping ship to another project just yet, haha. I mostly post art updates on Bluesky, but I can compile the progress here on Patreon if needed.

  2. Remaster One More Light, similar to what I’ve just done with Moonlit Field.

  3. Maybe whip up more Ren’Py stuff, depending on how much interest there is. I’m thinking of starting with a more in-depth layered images guide. We’ll see where it goes!

Anyways…

Besides releasing this version, I also have some other important news. In light of recent events the past few months, including the payment processor issues, I have decided to make a Patreon page. This page will recieve more updates from me, and you can also access all of my free Ren’Py assets & scripts there.

Check out the page here!

That’s all for now folks. Catch you again later!
